Swimming pool covers in winter
With our tips, you and your swimming pool cover will get through the winter in good shape — whether rolled up or floating on the water’s surface.
In summer and winter alike.
Our products are designed for year-round use. We use only materials that meet the relevant requirements — an optional winter cover is not usually necessary due to the prevailing temperatures.
Our cover reliably protects your pool from leaves, small animals and debris in both winter and summer — and also enhances safety by reducing the risk of accidents.
The instructions provided must be followed to prevent damage. Detailed information can be found in the operating instructions or from your specialist dealer.
Stored rolled up over winter
The cover is stored dry and protected on the roll-up mechanism — either underground in the pool pit or above ground at the pool edge.
Floating overwintering
The cover remains on the water’s surface and protects the pool throughout the winter — provided the water temperature remains at a constant minimum of +5 °C.
Our materials are designed to withstand frost.
- −60 °Cpolycarbonate
- −50 °CPVC
- −40 °CPUR
- +5 °CMinimum pool water temperature To prevent snow from accumulating on the cover — when the pool is left floating over winter.
An optional winter cover is not normally required, depending on the temperature.
How to keep your cover in good condition throughout the winter.
Tick the four points by clicking — your progress will be saved on this device.
Keep it clean
Remove any debris from the pool and keep the cover free of dirt — this will prevent discolouration.
Lower the water level
Lower the water level to a frost-safe level — and check it regularly throughout the winter.
Maintain the water temperature
If overwintering in a floating pond, keep the water temperature consistently at a minimum of +5 °C to prevent damage.
Water contact with PVC
With PVC profiles — particularly solar panels — ensure they are in full contact with the water’s surface. There is a risk of sun damage.
