Frequently Asked Questions
Answered directly by the manufacturer.
37 answers on technology, safety, installation, delivery times and cost — here are the four most common.
What is the difference between PC and PVC?
Polycarbonate is more impact-resistant, more heat-resistant and available in metallic finishes — with a guarantee of up to five years. PVC offers very good insulation at a more attractive price. Both materials are fully recyclable.
Can the cover support a child’s weight?
Yes. The 4-chamber profiles are designed to withstand a total load of up to 100 kg and prevent people from falling in accidentally. Important: A cover increases accident protection, but does not replace the duty of supervision. Find out more in the guide on load capacity and accident protection.
How much energy does a solar cover save?
The translucent profiles of the Design Cover PC Solar harness the sun’s energy and retain heat in the water. The extent of the savings depends on the pool, its location and how it is used — the Energy Check provides an estimate for your pool. The guide ‘Heat Pump, Pool Cover – or Both?’ explains the connection.
Can the cover be left on the pool during winter?
Yes, with the right preparation: lower the water level, remove any dirt, and check it regularly. Our winter checklist takes you through the preparation process step by step.
