What sets him apart

Technology that convinced.

Welded profile without a visible end cap
weld

It looks classy – and stays that way

No screw-on end caps, no adhesive, no silicone. State-of-the-art welding technology ensures an invisible, completely watertight joint.

Swimming pool in the blazing sun
TriEx UV protection

Protected from the sun

The TriEx protective coating reliably blocks UV rays and prevents algae growth — so your pool looks as good as new for years to come. With us, this isn’t an option — it’s standard.

Solar panel is floating on the water
Solar option

Heats your water for free

Close the cover – the sun will do the rest. The water gets noticeably warmer, the season lasts longer, and heating costs go down.

Your colour, your style

10 colours available at short notice – or your own custom shade on request. This ensures the cover blends in perfectly with your garden.

Responsibility included

Good for water and the environment

The black underside is partly made from recycled material – without compromising on appearance or durability. Sustainability you can’t see, but you’ll appreciate.

Compared with the market

What our coverage makes it better.

4-chamber profile

Greater safety thanks to 4 chambers

Four air chambers instead of the usual three – this ensures maximum buoyancy and a reassuring extra layer of safety. When closed, your pool is optimally protected and stabilised.

Tip: Ask about the cross-section of the profile: does it have three chambers or four?
Convex shape

Less space, less mess

Thanks to the cleverly designed convex curve, rainwater and dirt run off immediately, and the rolling radius is significantly reduced when the awning is rolled up. The benefits for you: a more compact installation, less cleaning and a consistently clean appearance.

Tip: The profile should have a slightly convex surface and should not be straight.
Up to 81 per cent greater wall thickness

Noticeably more robust

Our profile is significantly stronger than the market standard – with up to 81 per cent more wall thickness. This makes the cover extremely hail-resistant, ensures excellent thermal insulation and remains dimensionally stable over time. You’ll feel the difference immediately when you hold it in your hand.

Tip: Ask your specialist retailer for a sample and compare them.
Welded ends

Guaranteed to be waterproof

Others glue or seal the ends with silicone – the classic weak point where water seeps in and algae form. We weld them securely and permanently: completely watertight, durable, and available in either a colour to match or transparent.

Tip: Take a close look at the end caps: do they match in colour, and is there no silicone used?
Profile clip

Individual profiles can be swapped out easily

If a profile becomes damaged, simply replace that one component – without having to laboriously bend back the cover at the joints. This saves time, money and hassle, and protects the product.

Tip: Take a close look at the joints between the profiles: do they have profile clips, or are they simply hooked together?
UV & Anti-Algae Protection

Premium cover included

A special UV- and anti-algae coating often comes at an extra cost elsewhere. With us, this protection is built in from the outset across all profiles in the PC series. Your cover will remain clear, clean and attractive for the long term.

Tip: Ask whether the profile joints are coloured black to prevent algae growth in the chambers (anti-algae feature). And whether the profile has an additional protective layer on the top surface to protect against UV radiation (TriEx), rather than simply being UV-stabilised, which merely slows down yellowing.
5
5-year warranty

Five is simply better than two.

Whilst the market often offers only the standard 2-year warranty, we give you a full 5-year warranty on the Design Cover PC – more than twice as long. Because we don’t just talk about our quality – we stand behind it.

Tip: When buying your cover, do check the warranty period – most manufacturers only offer a 24-month warranty.
Evaporation & heating costs

Evaporation is the biggest Heat thieves.

Most of the energy is lost through the open water surface: evaporation alone accounts for around 70 per cent of total heat loss from a pool. Every litre that evaporates carries heat away – and must be replaced by adding more hot water and topping up the pool.

A tight-fitting cover prevents exactly that. It keeps heat, water and chemicals in the pool – day and night. This significantly reduces heating costs and extends the swimming season by weeks.

All figures are estimates provided for guidance only – the actual figures depend on the pool, its location and how it is used.

Where does the heat from an open-air swimming pool go?
Evaporationapprox. 70%
Radiation & Convectionapprox. 20%
Pool walls & floorapprox. 10%

This is exactly where the cover comes in: it seals the water’s surface and eliminates by far the biggest source of heat loss.

Design Cover PC – the polycarbonate pool cover in detail

The Design Cover PC is the premium slatted pool cover from Rollo Solar, made of solid polycarbonate. It combines high safety, noticeable heat retention and a design that enhances the pool instead of hiding it. Every profile is manufactured to size at our factory in Bad Tölz.

Why polycarbonate?

Polycarbonate is far more impact resistant and dimensionally stable than simple PVC profiles. The Design Cover PC bears point loads of up to 100 kg, is TÜV tested and certified to hail class 3. The profiles use a 4-chamber hollow design whose enclosed air chambers provide buoyancy and good thermal insulation.

Safety you can see

With a load capacity of up to 100 kg, the Design Cover PC reliably prevents children or pets from falling into the water unnoticed. Hail class 3 and the TÜV certification show that the profile withstands wind, weather and hail season after season.

Store heat, save energy

The profile floats directly on the water surface. During the day the solar colour variants absorb the energy of the sun and release it into the water, so the pool gets warmer without additional heating. At night the cover reduces evaporation and keeps the heat in the pool – lower heating costs, less water loss and less chemistry.

Colours and design

The Design Cover PC is available in ten standard colours, from discreet transparent and lagoon to elegant solar metallic tones. On request we produce almost any RAL colour.

Quality from Bad Tölz

You buy directly from the manufacturer, with made-to-measure profiles and a 5-year warranty on the profile.
